Meetings
Banchory Community Council normally meets in Banchory Academy on the second Monday of the month except for April, July and August. The Annual General Meeting usually takes place in June. The schedule of meetings for the current session can be viewed here.
Minutes of previous meetings and the agenda for the upcoming meeting can be found here.
The agenda for the next meeting is published no later than 3 days before it takes place. Minutes are published once they are approved by the subsequent meeting.
Attending a meeting
Meetings are open to members of the public or representatives of partner organisations who wish to observe proceedings. Please note that observers may not take part in any debate or vote and must not disturb proceedings. Taking photographs and making video and/or audio recordings of a meeting is not permitted without prior agreement of the Community Council. There may be very rare occasions where part of a meeting has to be held in private due to personal data or commercially sensitive information being discussed. Occasionally meetings may be held online. Online meetings are open to the public and a link can be obtained from the Secretary.
Speaking at a meeting or submitting a petition
Members of the public can request to speak at a Community Council or submit a petition about something on the agenda, or to bring an issue to the attention of the members. Requests to speak or submit a petition should be sent to the Secretary as soon as is practical before any meeting. The Chair of the meeting will consider whether the matter comes under the remit of the Community Council and will decide whether or not to accept the request.
